WyoTech-Laramie Brings Auto Technology Training into the 21st Century

WyoTech Automotive Technology TrainingThere was a time when auto mechanics were considered "grease monkeys" whose primary tools were screwdrivers, socket wrenches and – when all else failed – really big hammers. No more. Today, "tinkering under the hood" is likely to involve working with high-tech computer components as much as bolts and gaskets. And schools that teach auto technology have to keep up with the times.

WyoTech's flagship campus in Laramie, Wyoming, has for decades been at the cutting-edge of automotive education. Its Automotive Technology program allows students to learn a broad range of modern automobile maintenance, repair and diagnostic skills in one of the most advanced workshops in the education industry.

In less than a year, WyoTech-Laramie provides students with a comprehensive, marketable background in:

  • Basic Engine Management Systems

  • Drivabilitly Diagnostics

  • Drivetrain Systems

  • Chasis

In addition, students in WyoTech's Automotive Technology Program can choose to specialize in one of the following:

  • Applied Service Management

  • Motorsports Chassis Fabrication

  • High Performance Powertrain

  • Street Rod & Custom Fabrication

  • Light-duty diesel

  • Advanced Automotive Diagnostics/Smog Certification

  • Automotive/Diesel Combination

  • Performance Mechanical

  • Performance Electronics

  • Advanced Training Option

Courses are taught by seasoned industry professionals with bumper-to-bumper expertise in all areas of vehicle repair and operations. The curriculum is constantly updated to keep pace with modern innovations in engine design and drivetrain technology.

Upon graduation, WyoTech-Laramie graduates are qualified to seek employment in automobile service centers, dealerships and repair facilities nationwide. WyoTech's Career Services department helps graduates contact potential employers and prepare for those all-important job interviews.
