Chassis FabricationEven in today’s high-tech, computer-driven auto industry, there is still a place for traditional hands-on skills like cutting and welding. For career-minded students who like to build cars from the ground up, WyoTech’s flagship campus in Laramie, Wyo., offers a Motorsports Chassis Fabrication program that provides training in this craft.

WyoTech’s Motorsports Chassis Fabrication program focuses on modern metalwork techniques. This includes:

  • Attachment methods

  • Frame design and modifications

  • Measuring, pattern and outline development

  • Mechanical drawing reading and development

  • Metal finishing

  • Metal types and configurations

  • MIG and TIG welding


Career Opportunities

Graduates of WyoTech’s Motorsports Chassis Fabrication program may qualify for a variety of positions, including:
